  1. How do I create an account?
  2. It's easy to register your free account with WeBuyTextbooks.com!

    • Step 1--Go the the account registration page.
    • Step 2--Enter your email address.
    • If you want to use Payment via PayPal, make sure you use the same email address that is registered with your PayPal account.
    • Step 3--Choose a password that is greater than 4 characters in length and contains at least 1 number.
    • Step 4--Enter the mailing address where you would like to receive your check.
    • Step 5--Enter a valid phone number that we can reach you regarding your buyback.
    • (Optional) Also enter your cell phone number if you would like to receive text message notifications regarding your buyback. Standard text rates apply.
    • Step 6--Choose the payment method you prefer (Check or PayPal).
    • Step 7--Choose the shipping mehod you would like to use to send in your buyback (UPS or USPS).
    • Step 8--Select if you would like to receive text message notifications about your buyback.

  3. What do you do with my account information?
  4. WeBuyTextbooks.com takes your privacy seriously. The information you provide to us is strictly confidential and will only be used in the event we need to contact you regarding your order. We will not sell your personal information to third parties. Occasionally, we may contact you regarding special offers that may be of interest.   5. What do the different statuses mean?
  6. Pending--Your buyback has been submitted and is waiting to be received and processed by our receiving department. Please allow 2-5 business days for UPS delivery and up to 14 days or longer in mailing through the Post Office (USPS).

    Received--We have received your buyback and it is being processed. This typically takes 1 business day but can take up to 3 business days during peak buyback season.

    Paid--Your payment has been sent via the payment method chosen in your account. 'If you have chosen PayPal as your preferred method, payment will be sent to the email address associated with your account. Payments sent via check can take up to 14 days or longer through the Post Office (USPS).

  7. Why hasn't my status changed?
  8. Did you choose USPS Media Mail Shipping?
    It can sometimes take an exceptionally long time for packages to be delivered through the Post Office, up to 30 days in some cases. This is not the normal experience with Media Mail packages, but it does happen.

    Did you enclose a packing slip with your shipment?
    Not including a packing slip with your shipment can delay the receiving process.

    Did you ship exactly what was on your packing slip?
    Adding extra books to your shipment that do not appear on the packing list can delay the receiving process.

  10. You can reset your password through the password reset page.

  11. How do I enable cookies?

    1. Click on the "Tools" menu in Internet Explorer.
    2. Click on "Internet Options".

    The Selling Process

  1. How do I sell my books?
  2. Selling your books takes 4 easy steps:

    • Step 1--Enter the ISBN of a book you want to sell then click "Sell These Books".
    • Step 2--Review the cart summary then click "Checkout".
    • Step 3--Enter your name, address and form of payment. Click "Finish Checkout".
    • Step 4--Print your packing list and mailing label. Box up your books and mail them to us.

    That's it! Drop your books by the post office and you're on your way to having extra cash in your pocket!

  3. How do I cancel my buyback?
  4. If you would like to cancel your buyback, you don't have to do a thing! If we have not received your buyback within 30 days, it is marked as inactive and will cancel automatically.

  5. How can I find the status of my buyback?
    • Step 1--Login to your account.
    • Step 2--Click "Buyback Order History".
    • Step 3--Locate the buyback you would like information on.

    Your order status will show in "Buyback Order History" as Pending, Received, or Paid.

  6. How can I reprint my packing list and/or shipping label?
    • Step 1--Login to your account.
    • Step 2--Click "Buyback Order History".
    • Step 3--Locate the buyback you need to reprint the packing list and/or shipping label for.
    • Step 4--Click "Print Shipping Label" in the orange box.

  7. Do I need a separate order for each box I send?
  8. Yes. We suggest making a separate order and printing a packing list for each box of books sent. Not doing so may delay processing your buyback, as this helps the receiving process run more smoothly as the packages arrive.

  9. How long does it take to process my order?
  10. UPS shipping typically takes 2-5 business days for delivery. Order processing may take a little longer depending on where you are shipping from and if it is during one of our busiest times of the year.

    Depending on your location, Media Mail packages can sometimes take up to 30 days to arrive at our location.

  11. What happens if I include a book not included on the packing slip?
  12. If we are currently buying the book that is included in your package, we will pay you our current rate for that book.

    If we are not purchasing the book included in your package, it will be immediately discarded or donated. The book cannot be returned due to the volume of buyback orders and the charges incurred.

  13. Can I sell books under multiple email accounts?
  14. While selling under multiple e-mail accounts is allowed, if multiple accounts are used to exceed the maximum number of books allowed per customer, we will discard the extra books we receive.

    Do not create multiple buybacks to sell additional copies of an ISBN.

  15. How many books can I sell?
  16. If you have more than 9 copies of a single title you want to sell to us at one time, please email us with the title so we can check to see if additional quantities are needed.

  17. How frequently can I sell the same book?
  18. All items received in excess of the quantity limit in any 30-day period (without prior authorization from us) will be discarded. Additionally, these items will not be returned for any reason.After any 30-day period, we will accept copies of a single ISBN in excess of 9 copies. If more than 9 copies of a single ISBN are received in any 30-day period(without prior authorization from us) it will be discarded or discounted. Additionally, these items will not be returned for any reason.

  19. Do you accept books from outside the United States?
  20. We ask that international customers contact us if interested in creating a buyback order with WeBuyTextbooks.com

    We cannot accept International buybacks using our prepaid mailing labels.

  21. What paperwork do I need to include in my package?
  22. You must include a copy of the packing slip we provide for you.

  23. What if my books never make it to you?
  24. We are not responsible for items that are damaged in transit or lost in the mail. We cannot pay for items we do not receive. When packaging your shipment, please refer to our packaging guidelines.

    Book Specific

  1. What if I send the wrong book or a different edition?
  2. If we are currently buying the book that is included in your package, we will pay you our current rate for that book.

    If we are not purchasing the book included in your package, it will be immediately discarded or donated. The book cannot be returned due to the volume of buyback orders and the charges incurred.

  3. What books do you purchase?
  4. We can only purchase books that we will be able to resell.

    Books we CAN accept include:
    Student edition textbooks
    Laboratory manuals, study guides, and solutions manuals (must be free of any writing whatsoever and have all pages intact)
    Instructor's editions (at 25% of original quoted student edition price)
    Free/Complimentary copies (at 25% of original quoted student edition price)

    We CANNOT accept:
    Books that are water damaged, molded or mildewed
    Books that contain stains of any kind
    Books that have missing or loose pages
    Books that are loose leaf (binder) versions
    Books that are ex-library copies
    Books that have missing or loose covers
    Books with a broken or damaged spine/binding
    Study guides, lab manuals, and other fill-in books with answers written in them
    International editions
    Facsimile copies
    Custom editions
    Annotated Instructor's editions

    Decisions regarding the condition of books we receive rest solely with WeBuyTextbooks.com. All decisions are final. Again, if we receive unacceptable books or books that are not on your buyback list, those books will be immediately discarded or donated. Books cannot be returned due to the volume of buyback orders and the charges incurred.

  5. Do you accept instructor's editions?
  6. We do accept instructor's editions at 25% of the original quoted student edition price.

  7. Do I have to include the software that came with my book?
  8. We prefer that books sold to us have the original software components. Books tend to be worth more when the additional software or material is included.

    If we receive a book that is missing a component such as a CD or other supplement, we will deduct $10 from the buyback price of the book-unless the buyback price is less than $10, in which case a percentage will be deducted.

  9. What is an ISBN/ISBN 13?
  10. ISBN stands for International Standard Book Number. An ISBN is a ten or thirteen-digit code used to identify a book. Each book has its own ISBN. You can find the ISBN on the back of a book near the barcode or on the copyright page.

    Always enter the ISBN without dashes and don't leave off the leading zeros. Sometimes an ISBN can end with an X.

    In the example below, the ISBN is 0072229691.















  11. What do you mean by, "We are not buying this book"?
  12. Unfortunately, we cannot purchase every single book, especially if supply is greater than demand, or in the event your book is an old edition. Our buying guide is updated monthly, so please check back. If we are not purchasing your book at this particular time, we may be purchasing it in the future.

    Shipping

  1. Is my package insured?
  2. If you choose UPS to ship your buyback, insurance is included up to $100.

    If you choose USPS Media Mail to mail your buyback, the prepaid label does not include insurance. We recommend that if you choose to ship via USPS Media Mail, you purchase sufficient insurance for your shipment, as we are not responsible for items that are damaged in transit or lost in the mail.

    Remember to package your books securely, in a box preferably. See our packaging guidelines for more information about packaging. We are not responsible for items lost in the mail.

  3. Do I have to pay for shipping?
  4. No! You do not have to pay for shipping with WeBuyTextbooks as long as you use our shipping labels. We have already prepaid for your shipping. Be sure to print the prepaid mailing label and attach it to the package you are sending your books in. However, if you choose USPS Media Mail as your shipping method and want tracking and/or insurance on the package, you can pay the additional expense and still use our prepaid label.

    If you do not use the prepaid labels we provide and choose to use a different carrier or alternate shipping method, you must ship the books at your own expense.

    Please note that if a buyback order is delivered to WeBuyTextbooks.com in a USPS Priority Mail envelope or box with our prepaid label attached, the extra shipping charge will be deducted from your buyback payment.

  5. How long do I have to ship my books?
  6. The buyback prices quoted at checkout are valid only if your books are shipped within 7 days. All orders must be received within 30 days for payment to be issued.

  7. Is there tracking on my package?
  8. If you choose UPS to ship your buyback, tracking is automatically included with the prepaid shipping label.

    If you choose USPS Media Mail to mail your buyback, the prepaid label does not include tracking or delivery confirmation. If you are using this shipping method and would like delivery confirmation, you must purchase it separately through the Post Office.

  9. Which shipping method is best?
  10. UPS is our preferred shipping method. With UPS, packages reach our facility faster than any other method, typically within 2-5 business days. Free tracking and package insurance up to $100, is automatically included with UPS shipping.

    Media Mail shipping through the US Postal Service USPS Media Mail typically takes 6-14 business days for delivery. Delivery confirmation is not included with the USPS Media Mail prepaid option. If you are using this shipping method and would like delivery confirmation, you must purchase it separately through the Post Office. We recommend that if you choose to ship via USPS Media Mail, you purchase sufficient insurance for your shipment, as we are not responsible for items that are damaged in transit or lost in the mail. Insurance must also be purchased separately through the Post Office.

    Our prepaid shipping labels are approved for the above shipping methods only. If a buyback order is delivered to WeBuyTextbooks.com in a USPS Priority Mail envelope or Priority Mail Box with our prepaid label attached, the extra shipping charges incurred will be deducted from your buyback payment.

  11. Why did I get a USPS Media Mail mailing label when I chose UPS?
  12. UPS attempts to verify the address as you entered it. If there is any part of the address UPS does not recognize, it will be rejected and a USPS (US Postal Service) Media Mail label will print by default.

    If you still wish to ship UPS you are welcome to, though it will have to be at your own expense. If you choose to ship via USPS (US Postal Service) we urge you to purchase additional insurance with delivery confirmation.

  13. How do I package my book(s)?
  14. Use a sturdy shipping container (you can buy one from the post office or from any shipping supplies dealer) and pack the textbooks in as tightly as you can. The spine of the book(s) should be facing outward; thus, the books should be flat (not upright). Use enough packing material (Styrofoam peanuts, bubble wrap, or wads of shredded paper) to fill up all remaining open areas. Include your packing list and all applicable CDs, disks, and other supplements inside the package. Remember that textbooks missing CDs or other components will not be accepted for full credit.

    Seal your package with shipping tape, NOT scotch tape or masking tape. Seal all the seams with tape, and it wouldn't hurt to apply two strips around the perimeter of the package just for added support. Don't forget to attach the shipping label we've provided you on top of your package, and make sure it is the only mailing label on the box you're using. The postage label provided by WeBuyTextbooks pays for USPS Media Mail or UPS Shipping label. Be sure to print the prepaid mailing label and attach it to the package you are sending your books in. If you choose UPS to ship your buyback, package tracking and insurance is included up to $100. However, if you choose USPS Media Mail as your shipping method and want tracking and/or insurance on the package, you can pay the additional expense and still use our prepaid label.

    Payments

  1. How do you determine the price you will pay me for my books?
  2. Our price quotes are based on the nationwide demand for the book and current stock availability. However, the buyback prices quoted at checkout are valid only if your books are shipped within 7 days. All orders must be received within 30 days for payment to be issued.

  3. What are my payment options?
  4. PayPal is a popular service that allows you to receive money electronically through a secure interface, and transfer funds directly into your bank account. The service is free and all that you'll need to begin receiving payments via PayPal is an email address.

    Your PayPal email address must be the same as your WeBuyTextbooks.com account email address to receive your payment electronically through PayPal.

    If you choose, you can have your payment mailed to you in the form of a check.

    Make sure the name and address on your account is correct before submitting your buyback. We are not able to alter names or addresses on payments via check.

  5. How long will it take to get my money?
  6. If you chose PayPal as your method of payment when you submitted your buyback, your payment will be sent electronically within 2 business days of receipt of your buyback.

    If you chose check as your method of payment when you submitted your buyback, your payment will be mailed within 2 business days. Checks can take up to two weeks or longer to arrive in the mail.

  7. Which payment option is best?

    Check

    You can choose to have your payment mailed to you in the form of a check. Checks are mailed through the US Post Office (USPS) within 2 business days of receiving your book(s) and can take up to 2 weeks for delivery. Checks are made out to the name that appears on your buyback and mailed to the address as submitted with your information. In the best interest of our customers, we cannot change the name or mailing address on a buyback check.

  9. Can I change my payment method on buyback WBT-123-4567?
  10. If you HAVE NOT shipped your buyback to us, simply change the payment method in your account and resubmit a new buyback. Make sure you affix the new mailing label to your package and include the new packing list with the most recent buyback number in your shipment.

    We are unable to make any alterations to your buyback once it has been shipped.

  11. I want to check to go to a different person/address, will you change it?
  12. If you HAVE NOT shipped your buyback to us, simply change the information in your account and resubmit a new buyback. Make sure you affix the new mailing label to your package and include the new packing list with the most recent buyback number in your shipment.

    We are unable to make any alterations to your buyback once it has been shipped.

  13. Buyback Agreement
  14. WeBuyTextbooks reserves the right to terminate any buyback agreement at our discretion. In these rare cases, if the items have already been shipped, WeBuyTextbooks will offer to return the items to the customer at our expense. Buyback Rejections and/or Refusal of books do not apply.
